Abstract
Hypochlorous acid is a weak acid that is used to disinfect and kill bacteria and viruses. This acid is produced in the body of mammals by white blood cells. A safe material that can be used in various fields. Hypochlorous acid can be produced by many methods, which we discuss in this article. Chlorine gas and sodium or calcium hypochlorite and electrolysis can be used to p roduce this material. Each of these methods has advantages and disadvantages that have been examined. Sodium dichloroisocyanurate, with the trade name NaDCC or SDIC, is a product in the form of powder or tablet that needs to be dissolved in a specific amount of water to produce hypochlorous acid. Sodium dichloroisocyanurate is obtained from the combination of cyanuric acid, sodium hydroxide, and chlorine. It is more durable and easier to transport. According to the conditions of today's world, especially the spread of the coronavirus, the human need for a safe and available disinfectant is increasing day by day, for this reason, the market for the production of sodium dichloroisocyanurate is expanding every day. According to the obtained statistics, a large amount of this product is imported into Iran. Currently, no factory is working to produce this material in Iran. In this project a brief techno-economic investigation of establishing such a production plant in Iran was conducted and based on the available data, it was found to be feasible and advantageous.
